The Video Market

Powering new realities

Vividas features it’s own proprietary desktop player which uses up to 30% less bandwidth to deliver a better image, SD or HD with enriched sound, via a basic web server, removing the need for costly proprietary streaming servers, software installation or specialty network upgrades.

Vividas is addressing the video market by offering systems that take full advantage of the established Internet infrastructure. Each Internet node is a bank of servers so the Vividas system encodes the video signal into packets of data that are then distributed by the Internet, which are reassembled by the user’s device and then decoded. While traditional Internet-based video streaming systems require large banks of servers to handle the requests for data, Vividas plays down established internet infrastructure.

Each Internet node is a bank of servers so the Vividas system encodes the video signal into packets of data that are then distributed by the Internet, which are reassembled by the user’s device and then decoded.

While traditional Internet-based video streaming systems require large banks of servers to handle the requests for data, Vividas plays through established Internet infrastructure. Shifting the distribution to the much better equipped web infrastructure allows for a far superior performance without investment in hardware.

In addition, as the packets of data can have properties attached, the system can offer digital rights management
controls including facilities such as limiting the number of viewers or restricting the number of playbacks permitted.

The system also offers the ability to encode and stream live video, to make replays immediately available
as well as to book-mark key points in the transmission allowing a more concise review of the event very soon afterwards.

This ability to offer additional video streams increases the number of “eyeballs” and thus the value of an event
to sponsors and advertisers and, where a subscription is charged by the rights owner, the ability to add revenues
directly from those watching replays.
